On August 19th I went to my first PhotoPass Day at Walt Disney World Resort. I am going to talk a little but about the rare characters you could meet and my experience I had that day. Now if you are really, and I mean really, into meeting characters and that is a huge deal for you then this is your day. But the lines were ridiculous. I mean people were lining up for 3+ hours to meet some of the characters. Now the event was in all four theme parks with characters that you usually will never see in the parks. I was really excited for the day but not realizing how busy it was actually going to be. Now to be fair I am that annual passholder who won't wait longer than 30 minutes for any attraction. But let's get into the photos I did get to do on the day.
At Hollywood studios they had the Villains in a special area (where they had club villain awhile ago). I got to the park about 10 minutes after park open and the lines were already really long for the villains. The Evil Queens line wasn't too bad so that was the villain we chose. Now the Meet and Greet is really fun with her (I'm sure with all the villains) and the photos came out great. We only ended up waiting about 20 minutes but I heard as we left the villains were at 3+ hours for any of them. This is why we only got the Evil Queen.
Also at Hollywood studios they had a special photo pass spot where they photoshopped the Evil Queens cauldron with the poison apple in the your hand. I was disappointed in how the photographer had the exposure all wrong for the photos and everything came out really bright. I tried fixing them but it was really difficult. If they have someone doing photos outside they should at least know how to fix the exposure and white balance.
Mushu was at Epcot with Mulan and oh my goodness was I annoyed about how this line was. They had no real flow set. up and they had 20 minute breaks. Which I understand they need the breaks in the costumes but on a day like this they should of had two and had the line constantly moving. No one was saying how long the line would take and it ended up being about 2 hours or more to have a 30 second interaction with character. So I honestly would not do Photopass Day again. The lines were crazy and it just seemed a little unorganized. I am happy with the photos I ended up getting but I don't think it was worth half of my day to get these three pictures.
